I believe that it’s our personal responsibility to enhance the lives of others. Our very existence is predicated on our ability to inspire and to engage the world with our individual talents! My particular area of understanding is in health and wellness and for years, I’ve been working to help the youngsters in our community understand their health better. On May 1, 2010, I encourage everyone to join me in the fight against childhood obesity!
May 1, 2010 from 9:30AM-1:30PM, I’m hosting DC’s first Yoga-Music Session and DC Fitness Challenge. We start with a 50-minute instructor led yoga session that is enhanced by live string music and rhythms. This will be an invigorating union of healing music and active movement and it is open to all!
Then, we’ll have the DC Fitness Challenge for fitness enthusiasts and experts trying to win the title “DC’s Fittest” and up to $1000 in cash and prizes. These contestants will be challenged with four timed stations in two levels- experts and enthusiasts- best time wins! If you don’t want to compete, just come get a great workout!
The youth of today are the leaders tomorrow. We have to make sure they know how to stay healthy for many years ahead! This event will benefit both Girls on the Run DC and the Boys & Girls Club DC. I personally invite everyone to come be a part of the fitness movement and begin National Physical Fitness month off right for a great cause! Thank you for believing in the cause!
